Locations

Open Locations

Locations represent physical storage areas. Use names that identify where work happens, such as RECV / Receiving, QC-HOLD / QC Hold, or ST-A01 / Storage A-01.

Create a Location for every place where stock is stored or staged, using names that make sense to people doing physical work. Open a saved record from the list to review or update the information the screen allows.

After saving, use the label action to print a Location QR label. In supported movement workflows, scan the label to select the destination without manually searching. See Inventory and Location Labels for the current 6 × 4 inch format and guidance for using the QR-code portion by itself when the full label is too large.

Locations describe where inventory is; they do not change what it is. Container-tracked inventory requires its own applicable Location, while other tracking types follow the inventory-level rules shown by the workflow.

Oak Creek Goods uses RECV for receiving, QC-HOLD while quality review is needed, ST-A01 and ST-A02 for general storage, PROD-01 for the Production Bench, and ST-B01 for finished-goods storage. These are physical, neutral names: a Location describes where stock is, not which Item category is allowed there.
