Produce Inventory

Open Produce Inventory

Produce Inventory is the execution workspace for a Production Order. Review the output Item, instruction revision, planned run, and reservations before recording activity. Production activity times are shown in the business timezone, keeping the production record on the business calendar rather than an individual device’s calendar.

For an Add Material step, select or scan valid inventory, enter the actual quantity used, and save the consumption. For a non-material Instruction step, follow the released instruction and use the completion control to record progress.

An Add Material step must eventually have actual consumption or an explicit skipped/omission reason before the run can complete. Completed material steps are locked after their unused reservations are released, preserving the record of execution.

When another Lot or Container is needed, use Reserve another source on the current Add Material step, then record its consumption. This keeps the actual sequence and sources connected to the requirement.

During execution, Remaining to Add compares the planned material quantity to the actual quantity recorded so far. It is different from Still Needed to Reserve, which is about planning before use.

Execute the planned bulk order first. Record actual use of the five ingredient Lots/Containers and the 1.362 kg output of INT-CHERRYCHOCO-BULK / Cherry Choco Trail Mix, Bulk. The actual source Lots remain connected to the intermediate output.

Execute the packout order separately. Record actual use of INT-CHERRYCHOCO-BULK, 6 ea PKG-POUCH-BLK8 / Black Stand-Up Pouches, 6 ea PKG-LABEL-CHERRY8 / Cherry Choco Product Labels, and 1 ea PKG-CASE-6X8 / Shipping Case, then record 6 ea of FG-CHERRYCHOCO-8 / Cherry Choco Trail Mix, 8 oz as the finished output. Pack the six pouches in the case, print the resulting Indietory inventory/container label, and move the finished Container to ST-B01 when it is stored.

Record the quantity actually produced and complete the tracking information required by the output Item. Container-tracked output requires a Location; other tracking levels can allow no Location where the screen offers it. Print resulting labels where useful.

Before completing, review actual material use, instruction progress, and output. Completion preserves the execution history, consumes the actual inputs, and makes the finished output current inventory. Requirement summaries can then show Variance between planned and actual use.

A variance is not automatically an error. It records the difference between plan and actual work, which you can review in the context of the real process.

Production output cost includes actual consumed material cost and any additional production cost recorded for the execution. The output unit cost is calculated from total actual cost divided by accepted output quantity.

This actual execution cost is separate from a Production Order’s Estimated Material Cost, which is a planning estimate. Use the Production Order to plan and reserve; use Produce Inventory to record the inventory actually consumed and the cost of the output.
