Lots
The Lots Module includes the searchable list and Lot detail. Search or sort by Indietory Lot Code, Item, Manufacturer Lot Code, status, or other displayed information, then open the Lot.
Identity and relationships
Section titled “Identity and relationships”The Indietory Lot Code is the Lot’s internal identity and cannot be changed into a different code. Store an outside batch reference in Manufacturer Lot Code instead. The Item is also part of the historical identity and cannot be swapped for another Item.
Select existing Vendor records for Manufacturer and Supplier, so the Lot points to the same business identities used elsewhere.
For the Oak Creek Goods receipt example, the RM-CHOC-NAT / Natural Color Milk Chocolate Buttons Lot points to the fictional HIGHPLAINS / High Plains Ingredients Supplier. Keep the Indietory-generated Lot Code as the internal identity; use only a documented fictional outside reference when an example needs one.
Status and dates
Section titled “Status and dates”Current statuses are Available, Quarantined, Pending Retest, Hold, Rejected, and Expired. Update status to reflect your actual operating state and procedures.
RM-CHOC-NAT is the Oak Creek Goods quality example. Its received Lot begins Quarantined because the Item requires testing. Keep the physical Container at QC-HOLD while review is needed. After the appropriate review, update the Lot status through this Module according to the actual result; only an Available Lot can continue into the production example.
Retest Date, Expiry Date, and Final Use By Date are business-calendar dates in the Business Profile timezone. When one becomes due, it can restrict the Lot and its operational availability. See Automatic Lot Status Updates for the rules, confirmation step, and order used when more than one date is due.
Split a Lot
Section titled “Split a Lot”Use Split Lot when only part of a Lot needs a separate status, treatment, or traceability record. It creates a new independently managed Lot while preserving the relationship to its source. It does not add, remove, or merge physical inventory.
Current inventory and history
Section titled “Current inventory and history”Lot detail can show the current inventory associated with the Lot. For Container-tracked Items, it helps identify the Containers remaining under that Lot and their Locations. Use View Inventory and Inventory History for current quantities, sources, movements, and transaction history.
