Roles
Roles control Module access and action level. Use them to give people the access needed for normal work without giving everyone the same broad permissions.
Standard and Custom Roles
Section titled “Standard and Custom Roles”Standard Roles are built into Indietory and protected from tenant editing. Custom Roles belong to your workspace and let you model the way your team divides responsibility. Create a Custom Role, give it a clear function-based name, set its Module permissions, then save. Clone an existing role when it is close to what you need, then review the copied permissions.
Permission levels
Section titled “Permission levels”- None: no access to the Module.
- Read Only: can view but cannot perform normal write actions.
- Write: can perform standard supported create/update actions.
- Admin: a higher level that currently does not generally provide more behavior than Write.
Use Write for ordinary working access unless you have a specific documented reason to grant Admin.
Editing and deletion
Section titled “Editing and deletion”Editing a Custom Role affects all Users assigned to it. A Custom Role cannot be deleted while a User record, including an applicable inactive User, still depends on it; reassign those Users first. Standard Roles cannot be tenant-edited or deleted.
