Inventory and Location Labels

Indietory prints inventory/container labels and Location labels as PDF labels sized 6 × 4 inches. Each full label includes useful human-readable information as well as a QR code.

What must remain on a label

For Indietory scanning, the QR code is the only required part of the label. The surrounding text is useful for people working with the inventory or Location, but scanning relies on the QR code.

If the full label is too large for a small Container, bin, shelf, or other surface:

1. Print the normal label.
2. Cut out the QR-code portion.
3. Attach or use that QR-code portion by itself.

As long as the QR code remains intact and scannable, the corresponding Indietory scanning function continues to work. Inventory QR codes can be used to find inventory in supported scanning workflows. Location QR codes can be used to select a Location in supported workflows, such as moving inventory.

For the Oak Creek Goods workflow, print an inventory/container label after receiving a Lot + Container tracked RM-ALMOND-RU / Roasted Almonds, No Salt Container. Attach it to the physical Container, then scan it later to view or move that same inventory. Print Location labels for RECV, QC-HOLD, and ST-A01 so operators can scan the actual destination instead of selecting a name manually. After packout, print and apply the finished inventory/container label to the Cherry Choco Trail Mix shipping case.

Need another label format?

The current 6 × 4 inch size is the format Indietory supports today; it is not intended to be the only format forever. If you need another size or format, contact [email protected] and include:

• the label size you would like;
• what you are labeling;
• your printer or label stock type, if relevant; and
• a short explanation of the use case.

This feedback helps Indietory determine which additional label sizes should be supported.
